09.07.10 BG Capital named Best Frontier Market Investment Bank in CEE by Euromoney 2010 Awards

Euromoney yesterday announced the results of its 2010 Awards for Excellence for leading financial companies.

BG Capital was named the best Frontier Market Investment Bank in Central & Eastern Europe at an award ceremony in London at 9 p.m. yesterday.

“Our company finally took shape and began working as a full-fledged market player at the peak of the crisis, in the beginning of the last year. Thanks to our experienced management, our relatively young team was able to develop into a market leader in only one year,” said CEO of BG Capital Nick Piazza. “In 2009, BG Capital was the only investment bank in Ukraine and Georgia to successfully close deals in both equity and debt markets. We’ve significantly strengthened our positions in research and two of BG Capital’s analysts were voted in the Top-3 in the ‘European Emerging Markets, Ukraine: Country Analysis’ category of the 2010 Thomson Reuters Extel Survey. We are pleased to see our efforts rewarded with much deserved recognition.”

In addition, BG Capital’s parent company the Bank of Georgia was awarded with the “Best bank in Georgia” category for the sixth year running.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence is an annual event held since 1992 among financial market players in more than 100 countries.
